A strong Germany application is not one document. It is a sequence of academic, university, financial and visa decisions that need to fit together.

Undergraduate
Choose the right undergraduate pathway after Class XII — direct subject-restricted admission or Studienkolleg, where applicable.

With Class XII + APS, applicants may qualify for subject-restricted admission via Studienkolleg, where applicable. For admissions beginning Winter Semester 2026/27, APS states a minimum overall Class XII score of 70% of the maximum achievable marks for this specified pathway.
Class XII + APS + one successfully completed academic year in a recognized Bachelor's programme may allow direct subject-restricted admission to the previous field and closely related subjects, subject to all applicable conditions. For admissions beginning Winter Semester 2026/27 onward, the Class XII certificate must show at least 70% of the maximum achievable marks. This is commonly described as the 12+1 academic pathway — not simply 13 years of school.
Public universities
A university being public does not automatically mean every programme is free or every applicant is eligible. We assess the exact programme, requirements and route.
Many universities use uni-assist, while others accept applications directly.
Standard uni-assist handling is €75 for the first chosen course and €30 for each additional course in a semester.
uni-assist usually reports a 4–6 week evaluation window, while current regional processing can be shorter or longer.
Application planning
Many courses follow these broad patterns, but exact deadlines are university- and programme-specific. Always verify the official deadline.
* uni-assist says 15 July is often used for Winter Semester and 15 January for Summer Semester, but many programmes have different or earlier deadlines. Apply as early as possible — uni-assist recommends at least 8 weeks before the deadline.

APS India
APS verifies academic documents for applicable Indian applicants. The current official process includes eligibility checking, document preparation, online registration, payment, submission and tracking.

Collect the academic certificates, transcripts and supporting documents required for your procedure.
Register online and enter your personal and academic information accurately.
Pay the official verification fee through the APS process. This is separate from our assistance fee.
Follow the current APS instructions for document submission/courier and retain your proof of shipment.
APS may contact schools, boards, universities or other institutions and may request additional information where applicable.
Use your APS account to monitor the status. APS states that individual fixed processing times cannot be guaranteed.
After successful completion, APS issues the applicable digital certificate/outcome and you can use it for the next stages.
APS has announced that for admissions beginning Winter Semester 2026/27, the updated criteria include a minimum overall score of 70% of the maximum achievable Class XII marks for the specified Indian undergraduate pathways. This does not itself guarantee admission.
APS currently lists Engineering, Commerce/Accounting/Finance/Economics and Business/Management among affected fields. The first dMAT test is scheduled for 26 September 2026; the current APS announcement says the new procedure is intended for Summer Semester 2027 and later intakes.
Student visa
For long-term study stays, the German National Visa process is the relevant route. The Consular Services Portal (CSP) can be used for eligible online national visa applications, including study purposes.
Current German Missions guidance references €11,904 for the standard blocked-account route, with a monthly withdrawal limit of €992. Other accepted proof-of-funds routes may apply.
Up to 140 full days or 280 half-days per year, or alternatively up to 20 hours/week during the lecture period under the applicable rules.
Eligible graduates can apply for a residence permit for job seeking for up to 18 months.

Blocked account
A blocked account is one possible way to demonstrate sufficient funds for your German study visa. The exact amount and proof accepted by the mission should always be checked before transfer.
